APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Rational Software Architect (RSA) v7.0 the user cannot edit
  Mediation Handler Lists or the sequence numbers.

  When you add a mediation handler, you can then place that
  handler on "mediation handler lists".  For each list, you can
  specify which sequence the handler is to appear on the list.
  Neither the "Add Mediation" wizard, nor the EJB Module
  Deployment Descriptor Editor will allow me to edit the Mediation
  Handler Lists on which a given Mediation Handler Appears.
  Nor will they let me edit the sequence numbers.  I don't get any
  errors.  In the wizard, when I select the "advanced" check box
  and click on the "Next" button, nothing happens.  Only the
  "Finish" button works on the wizard.  In the deployment
  descriptor editor (the other place where I should be able to
  edit the lists), when I select a Mediation Handler and click the
  "Modify" button nothing happens.

Local fix

• Here is a work-around:

  Use the 'Add' wizard to create a new Mediation Handler, then
  create a handler list and define it's sequence number.
  
  It fails when trying to modify an existing Mediation Handler.

  The 'Modify' button for the Mediation handler was opening the
  mediation creation wizard without allowing the mediation
  handler lists to be edited.
  

Problem conclusion

• The 'Modify' button now allows the mediation handler lists for
  the selected Mediation handler to be modified.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  the WebSphere Application Server Toolkit fixpack 6.1.1.8 and
  Rational Application Developer fixpack 7.0.0.8.  Please refer
